Mohammad Rizwan is a better player than me: Kamran Akmal
National cricket team wicketkeeper Kamran Akmal has admitted that Mohammad Rizwan is a better player than me.
Talking to reporters at the new Nazimabad Stadium in Karachi, Kamran Akmal said that Mohammad Rizwan has emerged as a good cricketer, replacing national captain Sarfraz Ahmed.
“Now the players who come to replace Rizwan will have to perform twice as much as him. A player like me cannot be a substitute for Rizwan because he is a better player than me. I am not saying that I will replace him,” he said.
Kamran Akmal said that if he had such a performance in ODI cricket then none of Harris, Rohail Nazir, and Bismillah Khan could get Rizwan’s place.
Responding to a question about the tour of Australia, the national cricketer said that selfish cricket was played in the home series against Australia. Overall poor performance did not have any positive effect. Save and play for yourself, this action is not right.
Kamran Akmal said that Pakistan cricket has suffered a lot from conducting experiments. He kept saying during the rule of Imran Khan that shutting down departmental cricket is harmful.
Answering a question about retirement, he said that when he felt that it was not suitable for cricket, he would say goodbye to the game.
In response to another question, Kamran Akmal said that in order to bring good players to the fore, they have to give as much ground as possible.
